Ivan Thomson was the youngest son of Mrs. S. W. Thomson of Hanlan's Point, Toronto in Canada. who had been widowed in 1942. He was killed on May 26th 1943 while piloting a Short Stirling heavy bomber BF534 brought down in the blast of an accompanying Halifax bomber, JB837.
